Her tip to anyone wanting to work with children is to not be afraid of being a kid yourself landsee more of her tips and career story below.What did you study to get into your role?Diploma In Childrens ServicesTell us more about your role and what a typical day at work looks like for you...In a nutshell, I manage enrolments for the centre. Starting from tours of the centre through to the welcoming the families and making them feel comfortable with leaving their children with us. There is no typical day at work, every day is busy, fun and different. The learning for me as an educator and for the children never stops.What did you want to be when you were younger? I wanted to be a veterinarian as I absolutely love and adore animals. I then later realised that If I actually love them that being a vet wouldnt be the best job for me.What was your first job and what do you think it taught you?My first job was a Hungry Jacks on the Gold Coast. This job taught me a whole lot of people skills, how to deal with complaints and how to adjust my approach to people to make the experience better.Whats the most important career tip someone has given you?If you want to see a change you have to be a change.What career advice do you wish someone had given you when you finished high school?Dont rush into making career choices, live and explore so you find what you really want to do with your life.Name the best and worst parts of starting your jobThe best part about starting my job is that every day is different and that gives me a challenge and opportunity to learn new things. The worst part is when its time for families and children to leave the centre at the end of the year - saying goodbye isnt the best feeling.What qualities and skills should people have if they want work with children and education?A whole lot of patience Eagerness to learn and be willing to upskill Not afraid to be a child themselvesWhere do people have to start to work in child care and what is the standard salary?The best place to start is to get on the job experience as a trainee. The standard wage for a trainee is $18 p/h depending on their age.Name a career highlightThe amount of love and appreciation you get back from the children and their families. Heres what we foundResume Paper 1 I vory 25% Cotton (24lbs) RatingTo begin, we must admit that weare not fans of ivory paper. Although you cant tell from the image above, the ivory resume is more of a cigarette-stained yellow than an off-white ivory.If you are going spend money on professional resume paper, either go BIG OR GO HOME.Besides the color, this paper also lacks weight. Sure, the 24lbs paper feels a bit thicker and more durable than the run of the mill printer paper, but it comes no where close to the feeling you get when you pick a piece of heavy-duty 32lbs paper.Resume Paper 2- Ivory 100% Cotton (24lbs) Rating As you can tell from the image above, ivory paper can be deceiving. When placed in naturallight, the color tends to be lighter and whiter. However, when sitting in apoorly-lit area, the ivory looks like a 20-year old newspaper thats been sitting out in the sun.The only difference between resume 1 and resume 2 is the percentage of cotton. A higher percentage of cotton helps toughens the paper by making it harder to tear or crease. Additionally, paper with a higher percentage of cotton lasts longer. The standout quality of the linen paper is its unique texture. Hiring managers find the linen resumeirresistible as the interwoven weaves makeit impossible not to touch.Keep in mind that when printing your resume that most textured paper usually only apply the featuresto one side. But thats not all The linen paper is also 100% cotton and 32lbs, making it the most durable and powerfulresume of the bunch. Its 100% cotton, crisp, has a high impact factor, and sits at a premium weight. The only thing this paper lacks is a little flavor and some color that might help it to further standout.Interestingly enough, some paper companies watermark their products. This is used as a security feature to help prevent fraud.Resume Paper 7- White 100% Cotton (CV) Rating To complete the comparison, we included Southworths CV pape r since many countries outside of the U.S. use the CV format. The only real difference between the CV and Resume 4 is the size of the paper. Resume 4 is 8 1/2 in.
